We got there eventually (although sooner than Fiona was expecting)
We awoke, slightly hungover from the graduation ball, to a terrific breakfast before leaving Glasgow. Everything seemed to be starting well until we reached the Lake District (12ish). The train abruptly came to a stop in the middle of nowhere and the power went out. Thankfully there was a backup and we were soon up and running for around 10 minutes before the backup went as well :(. An hour later, we were on the move again and reached London at 4.30.
Unbeknown to Fiona was that this was the time we should have been leaving London on the Eurostar to Paris. Fiona thought we were getting the 12 hour overnight bus, leaving from 'St. Pancras bus station'. She also thought we were in a hurry to get to 'St Pancras bus station' to get our bus tickets as the shop was going to close at 5. We hurried to 'St Pancras bus station' to get our tickets. The staff at 'St Pancras bus station' were very kind and put us onto the 5.30 train. Fiona eventually caught on to the fact we were not getting the bus when we were waiting for the new tickets to come through.
2 hours and 30 minutes later we arrived in Gare Du Nord, Paris.
